About California and city of Carlsbad

Celebrated coastline to its broad heartland and granite Sierra peaks, California offers a lifetime of vacations in one Golden State. In a place this big and diverse, there is indeed something for everyone. Major cities filled with culture and entertainment, sunny beaches and surfers in the waves, jaw-dropping parklands. Enjoy a kid’s wish list of iconic theme parks, or indulge in some of the best food and wine experiences in the world.

California’s climate varies widely from desert to alpine depending on latitude, elevation and how close the area is to the coast. Most of the coastal and southern parts of the state have a Mediterranean climate with somewhat rainy winters and dry summers. California is a year-round destination, with weather that has something for everyone, from sun worshippers to snow bunnies. The best time to visit really comes down to what you want to see and do. Most visitors head to California during the peak summer months (June through August); that is when you can expect the biggest crowds at top attractions and high-season rates at hotels and resorts.
