Ronda is a brawny town with a dramatic history. It has more beauty, charm and history than many cities put together. Ronda is the largest of Andalucía’s white towns, and it is a popular tourist destination for day trips and wine tours. Modern bullfighting was practically invented here in the late 18th century, and the town’s fame was spread further by its close association with American Europhiles Ernest Hemingway (a lover of bullfighting) and Orson Welles (whose ashes are buried in the town). From beautiful alleyways and cobbled streets to ancient city walls, the famous new bridge and incredible sweeping landscapes, it’s easily one of the most photogenic cities in Spain.

More About Ronda

Due to its mountain location, Ronda has a distinctly different climate to the rest of the coastal region of the Costa del Sol. Enclosed by the mountains keeps the town relatively tolerable during the summer, but cold and grey and wet during the winter. With pleasant temperatures throughout the year, climate-wise any time is the best time to visit Ronda. However, the festivals and events correspond to the actual best time to visit Ronda with respect to things to do and see. April to September can be called summer months in Ronda. July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 24 celsius. Eventually, September is the best time to visit Ronda.
